clock kits

I'm getting into building electronic kits and I'd like to build a coundown timer using red 7 segment digit displays.

Preferably I'd like to use 8 digits in the display so that I can display the time remaining in the coutdown in the following format:

hh:mm:ss:tt

(tt = tenths of a second)

I'm having trouble finding plans for such a kit. Does anyone know of any websites or reference material that would have plans for a kit like this?

I haven't seen one in tenths at all. But here is a good blog with lots of links,, I haven't looked for one there as yet.
